How to Calculate Coverage: How Many Bags of MicaWall Do You Need?

One of the most common questions we receive is:
“How many bags of MicaWall do I need?”
On average, one bag covers approximately 50 square feet when applied at about 1/8 inch thickness.
Step 1: Measure Your Wall
Multiply height × width to determine total square footage.
Example:
10 ft wide × 8 ft high = 80 sq ft
Step 2: Consider Application Depth
-
Standard application → ~50 sq ft per bag
-
Heavier texture → reduced coverage
-
Multi-layer finishes → require additional material
Step 3: Calculate Bags Needed
Divide total square footage by coverage per bag.
Example:
80 ÷ 50 = 1.6 → Round up to 2 bags
Always round up to account for texture variations and waste.
